Literature Text

When I'm angry you say I speak my mind
But it's my heart that I can't find
Fighting off myself and trying to protect you
Sadly it's the second that never comes true

You wrote me poems with my name
What I've said has only brought shame
I can't write as you would
But I'll give it a shot like I always should

I'm sorry for making you feel
Unwanted
Not needed and
Hated
That's not what I meant to do
You were and are my hero
Always coming to my rescue

I sat down one day to think of you
Ponder the words that rhyme with kangaroo
I want to go back to before all this
But now it seems that there's just too much shit

You'll never believe it's true
But I guess you have no reason to
Believe that I really do love you
Believe that you are the one I choose
To trust
To like
And to hold on to

I'll fight for your sweet name
I'll battle every witch that comes your way
For once, you relax
Let me do all the carrying
You need a rest from all my insecurity

Now my rhymes are slanted
In all the wrong ways
But I want you to know
This poem has lines from other days

Please remember that you
Are neither a sister nor a brother
But much more than a friend
Or even a lover
There is no proper title that
Reaches your calibre

You never hit me even on the worst day
You've never used or abused me in any way
Believe me please
What separates you from all the rest
Is your heart of gold hidden in your chest

I'm sorry for the other night
I'm sorry and yes you are right
Sometimes I speak my mind
But the path of happiness
Is what my heart will find

It screams to me
Above the anger and depression
How much I love and care about you
Will never be a question
I wrote this poem for my friend

I suck at writing poems so just be nice :/

reason for the title is my friend likes fullmetal alchemist

im working on a picture that goes with this poem but it is not finished :/
